What is FAME?

FAME, Feminism: Action and Mobilisation for an Inclusive Economy, is a transformative project designed to empower over 1,000+ women across Sri Lanka while promoting diversity, inclusion, and gender equality. Spanning 6 provinces, it focuses on advancing feminism, digitalization, sustainability, and LGBTQIA+ rights. This initiative, funded by the French Government in partnership with the South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF) and the Ceylon Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs (CCWE), aims to uplift women-led businesses and amplify underrepresented voices.

This initiative, funded by the French Government in partnership with the South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF) and the Ceylon Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs (CCWE), aims to uplift women-led businesses and amplify underrepresented voices. The Ceylon Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs (CCWE) serves as a consortium, linking local chambers across Sri Lanka and fostering partnerships with South Asian chambers through the “South Asian Women Development Forum.” This initiative strengthens connections both locally and regionally.

CCWE actively works to provide international exposure to its network by organizing forums, and trade exhibitions, and facilitating opportunities within the UN system. Additionally, it empowers local chambers to enhance their reach and engagement within communities across Sri Lanka.
